Grand Lake O’ the Cherokees Quilt Guild is located in Grove, Oklahoma but serves the entire Grand Lake area. Our guild was established in 1976 and in 1995 became a nonprofit organization incorporated under the laws of the State of Oklahoma.
The purpose of our guild is to bring quilters together to share, enjoy, teach and learn the “Art of Quilting”. Programs and workshops are offered throughout the year to encourage quilters to try all aspects of quilt making. The guild also contributes to a variety of charitable organizations in the Grand Lake area through our community service projects.
Meetings are held on the first Friday of every month. We meet at 10:00 AM at the First Christian Church, in Celebration Hall, located at 102 W. 4th Street in Grove. The building is clearly marked Celebration Hall. There are two parking lots . One is located in front of the building and another large lot is on the left side of building. We currently have over 110 members. Membership is open to everyone and annual dues are $20. We invite interested people to attend a monthly meeting as our guest to learn more about us.
Our biennial quilt show is usually held in odd-numbered years; however due to Covid19, we will not have a quilt show in 2021. Our entire membership works together to plan and execute this judged show, which in 2017 showcased over 200 quilts from quilters throughout the four state area of Oklahoma, Arkansas, Kansas and Missouri.
